Noordhoek Beach delivers nearly eight kilometres of untamed Atlantic coastline south of Chapman's Peak. The sand here runs wide and pale, and the water stays cold and powerful year-round. Surfers work the breaks at the northern end near the wreck of the Kakapo. Horses from local riding schools move along the shoreline most mornings. The Boardwalk café sits at the car park end for post-walk coffee. Strong southeasters blow in summer, so bring a windbreaker. Sunsets from this beach hit differently, with the Sentinel and Chapman's Peak framing the horizon. Go midweek to have long stretches entirely to yourself.
